Hi! I am here to tell you a tale of what has happened to me through out my life. Well one day I got up just as I normally did. I got ready for work. Same old story, right? Wrong! I was never expecting what happened that morning, but I will get into that in a minute. I was leaving my cozy little apartment, getting ready to go to work. I thought to myself, “I have a boring life. I wish something exciting would happen.” Then all of a sudden someone threw a bag over my head and knocked me out. Like before I even knew what was going on. Then I woke up a couple of hours later. I noticed that I was in a car and it was moving. I didn’t know where I was headed or anything. I figured that I would try and move my hands but then realized that they were tied behind my back. I couldn’t move at all. I started to panic. Then someone finally said in a soft female voice,
“Look who’s finally awake.”
“Where the hell am I?” was all I could squeak out.
“Don’t worry about where you are, worry about who your with.”
With that sentence I just shut my mouth and waited. I wasn’t really sure where I was or where I was going or who I was with. So I just sat in the car quietly waiting for the car to stop. I could hear people whispering in front of me. I figure out that I was in a stretch limo but I wasn’t sure why I was there. Finally I asked, “Does this have something to do with the wish that I had made earlier?”
“No. I don’t think so anyway.” the female voice had answered me.
“Okay. Then who am I with?” and with that question someone had punched me in the head and knocked me out again. When I woke up, the bag was off my head and I was sitting straight up in a chair in a huge room with food on the table that I was sitting at. I didn’t know where I was, but I knew that I wasn’t tied up anymore. So I thought. I tried to get up from the chair and table, but realized that it was useless. I didn’t really think that they would let me get away that quick. I was strapped down to the chair. I wasn’t tied. That much I knew, but I didn’t know that I was strapped down. Then all of a sudden someone walked through the door that I hadn’t noticed. A woman walked in. She was blonde, about 5 foot 7 inches tall, and, to me, it looked like she was no bigger than a size two. She was dressed in a pink top and a long grey skirt with black high heels on.
“Where am I?”
“That is none of your business.”
“Well I think that it is my business. I was kidnapped and brought here. I want to know where I’m at.”
“You will know soon enough but right now we need to know what your name is.”
“My name?!” I asked confused and surprised.
“Yes. What is your name?”
“First I want to know your name.”
It looked like she wasn’t about to give out that kind of information until I told her what my name was. I wasn’t about to give up though. I wanted to make sure that she knew that too.
“That’s not important.”
“I think that it is.”
“It’s really not. I just need to know your name.”
“Give me a good reason of why I should give you my name!”
“I can’t give you that information.”
Finally I started to cave. I was about to give her my name when I couldn’t remember what my name was. I had gotten knocked out twice and had just woke up. I was never good at remembering anything until I had a cup of coffee.
“can I at least have a cup of coffee first then I will tell you my name.”
“Fine. Do you take anything in your coffee?”
“A little bit of creamer and two sugar.”
She rushed out of the room to get me a cup of coffee. When she returned she locked the door behind her and let me go.
“There now you have your coffee tell me what your name is!”
She was starting to get impatient. I still had no idea of who I was. I figured that she would give me a break and let me drink my coffee first. Then I realized I didn’t know this woman and she could have poisoned my coffee.
“My name is… uh… I have no idea of what my name is.”
The woman mumbled under her breath “Uh oh”
That didn’t sound too good to me. I couldn’t remember my own name. I hoped that it would come to me. As we both sat there I kept thinking about my family and what they had called me. Then it came to me all of a sudden.
“Ted”
“Excuse me?!”
“My name is Ted.”
As soon as I said that, I heard the door unlock and I had four people in the room gawking at me. I wasn’t sure what to think about that.
“Okay now that I told you my name, what is your name?” The woman just looked at me like “what are you talking about?” Then she remembered.
“My name is Lucy.”
“I use to have a sister named Lucy, but she died when she was sixteen.”
“Yes I know.”
“How would you know that?!”
“I know a lot more about you than you realize, Ted.”
“Then why did you ask me what my name was?”
“I wanted to make sure you knew what your name was.”
“Okay. OH! Where am I? You still haven’t answered that question.”“I told you it wasn’t important. Just like my name wasn’t important.”“I want to know where I’m at.”
Lucy looked at me and said “I’m surprised that you don’t know where you are.”
I was lost. I didn’t know what she was talking about. I didn’t really look around either. It seemed like as soon as I tried to pull free from the chair someone was right there to stop me if I did break free. As this conversation was going on the four people that had entered the room were still there listening to every word that was said. I finally broke eye contact with Lucy and looked around the room, it looked like we were in my old apartment in New York city. I knew that I couldn’t be in my old apartment though because I knew that my apartment wasn’t this big. I was still lost as to why they wanted me. I knew I couldn’t ask them were I was because the last couple of times I asked I didn’t get a straight answer. So I just sat there and waited for one of the four goons that were in there now to say something. No one said something. They looked at me like I was a god or something. Then all of a sudden someone opened the door. It flew past where I was sitting. I could feel the wind on my face. Then I noticed that the room smelled like mildew. I was surprised that I didn’t smell it before. The guy that had walked into the room was dressed in a business suit. He had black hair, wire rim glasses, blue eyes, and looked like he worked out a lot. The guy looked familiar but I couldn’t place where I had seen him before. When he walked into the room everyone stood up and didn’t look him directly in the eyes. I wondered if the guy was their leader?
Finally he spoke as if he knew everything in the world.
“Welcome to our humble home, Ted.”
I was stunned. He knew my name and wasn’t even in the room when I had said my name. Unless he was listening from somewhere but I didn’t see how that was possible. It looked like every wall was solid concrete. “Looks can be deceiving.” I thought to myself.
I thought that his voice sounded familiar too. I just could not place where I had heard it.
“Uh… Thank you?”
I didn’t know what else to say.
“You are probably wondering why you are here.”“Yes I am. Why am I here and where exactly is here?”
“You are here because you are a chosen one and where we are isn’t really that important.”
“What exactly is a chosen one?”“You are. I’m surprised you didn’t notice anyone following you for the last couple of weeks.”
That was where I knew him from. I saw him in the park following me. I tried to lose him in a big crowd then I went back to my apartment and he was standing right there. I think that he tried to talk to me but I thought that he was crazy. He had told me before that I was a chosen one. I didn’t know what he was talking about so I ignored him.
I guess now I should have listened. I think he also tried to warn me about some people that were after me. I didn’t think that I was in harms way. He had read my mind.
“See I knew that I wasn’t crazy, but you didn’t want to listen to me.”
“I see now that I should have listened.”“Exactly.”
I wasn’t exactly sure where this conversation was going. Then I realized I didn’t know what this guys name was. He knew my name but I didn’t catch his. Although I’m pretty sure no one had said his name.
“What is your name?!”
“Andrew. I am the leader of this group.”
OH. I had forgotten that there were still people in the room.
“Can’t you send your little minions else where so they aren’t listening to everything we say?”
“No. Only because what I’m about to tell you will change your life. We don’t know how you will react to it.”“Okay. So just tell me already.”
Andrew didn’t say anything for a while. It was like he was listening for something. After what seemed like an hour, Andrew spoke.
“What you are about to hear is top secret and you can not tell anyone, your not even allowed to write it down and if you do we will know and you will be dead that same day.”
After Andrew said that, I was scared. I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to hear what I was about to. Andrew continued with what he was saying.
“You are the chosen one.”
He paused right there and decided to get rid of his goons. “Finally!” I thought. After everyone was out of the room he continued.
“I am the leader of this group, but you already know that. You’re wondering Okay what is this “group” you talk of? This is the easy part to tell you. The group is called… well we really don’t know what we are called. We are set out to find the chosen ones. I was the chosen one until we found you. The reason that we have been following you is because we wanted to make sure that you really were the chosen one. We were right. We represent a very hidden very secret mission that needs to be solved by September 31st, 3015. The mission is simple but because no one has the brain power that you do the mission has not been completed. The mission is too make sure whatever comes across the radio is not from outer space. Aliens have been trying to reach out and make people believe that they will be safer on another planet. Which in turn is not safe for humans at all. We figure that if anyone goes into space and the Aliens pick them up, that they will not come back home. We have already lost about a handful of people and we don’t want to lose anymore.”
While I sat there listening to all of this I knew I would have questions. How do they know that aliens really do exists? Why am I the chosen one out of all the brainiacs in the world? What is the point of this? Why don’t they just let the people of earth go to outer space? Why keep everyone sheltered from it? I had so many questions that it made my head hurt. I had to figure out what day it was and how long I had before time was up, and what would happen if time ran out? I finally got my brain to slow down a little bit to ask what the date was. Andrew told me that it was July 22, 3015. That ment I had little over a month to figure everything out and stop the aliens from coming to Earth. I didn’t understand anything.
I wanted to understand. I had no idea of how to go about that. I wanted answers. I wasn’t sure how to get them. I didn’t realize that Andrew wasn’t done talking.
“The reason why we have chosen you is because I am dying.”
“WHAT?!” I scream. “How can this be happening? Why am I the one that has to figure this out? I have a lot more questions but I can’t even think straight right now.”
With everything that I was told, I couldn’t think straight let a lone take in any more information. I didn’t even want to look at Andrew. Then he brought his minions back inside the room. He told them to take me into a room where I could sleep and think about thing. Then he told them to guard the door so that I couldn’t escape.
